The Pain-Free Place

Duration: 11 minutes

This deeply restorative meditation offers a gentle method for working with both chronic and acute pain—without suppression, rejection, or resistance. You'll be guided to recline in stillness, smoothing the breath and steadying the mind, before being invited to rest your awareness on a neutral or pain-free part of your body. This practice, rooted in both yogic wisdom and neuroscience, helps retrain the mind’s tendency to fixate on pain, allowing you to develop a steadier, more skillful inner attention.

By staying present with what is luminous and not painful, you build the capacity to navigate pain with greater heart and clarity. You are not asked to eliminate or deny difficult sensations, but rather to balance your experience by remembering what is not in pain. In this way, you create space within your nervous system—space that lessens hypervigilance, reduces inflammation, and restores a sense of ease.

This is a meditation of non-suppression, of learning how to be in relationship with pain and peace, cultivating a mind that is both tender and resilient.
